What is the lead-order time on average per vehicle?

8-14 weeks, Refurbished vehicles are about 4 weeks.

How long do the vehicles run for?

Depends on the customer requirements: 5 kWh Li-Ion gives about 50 kms range.
10 kWh gives about 90-100 kms and 14.4 kWh gives about 150 kms range.

How much does it cost per charge?

The duration required for charging depends on the tariff rates and whether they are commercial or fixed. Utilizing an average rate of R3.50 per kWh, a standard on-board charger typically charges the pack at a rate of 25Ah per hour, equivalent to 1.2 kWh. Therefore, for a consumption of 5 kWh, the charging time would range from 4 to 4.5 hours, resulting in an estimated cost of R15.75.

If I transport guests, what insurance and other legalisties are required?

Customers are required to possess their own Public Liability insurance, while drivers must hold a valid driver's license. Our coverage extends solely to the vehicle itself. Additionally, if operating on public roads and offering rides for a fee, drivers must obtain a PDP license and a COCT Operators License.

Do you provide short term rentals or only long term ?

No – only long term, typically 36 months or longer.

Why rent versus buy ?

Melex includes and provides on-site maintenance, spares , callouts, insurance for all rented vehicles.

Are the vehicles new?

We provide both New and Refurbished vehicles depending on the customer budget and time frames.

Do you supply rain covers?

Yes, we supply various options for the rental vehicles including rain covers depending on the customer requirements.

Do you supply Rentals of other brands besides Melex Electrovehicles carts?

No, this would unduly compromise our consistency of support.

Do you supply Road Legal rental vehicles?

Yes, up to 6 seater shuttle models and Utility models.

Can I brand the vehicle with my own graphics and Logos?

Yes, as long as the vehicle is not modified in the process without prior consultation with Melex.
